Stone Mug Stirring – Honey Tea Mix with Metal Spoon (High‑Resolution Sound Design Recording)
This high‑resolution foley recording captures the detailed acoustic texture of a metal spoon stirring tea with honey inside a heavy stone mug. Recorded with a Zoom F3 at 192 kHz / 32‑bit float (later converted to 24‑bit and normalized to –1 dBFS), and using an Earsight The One omnidirectional microphone without a Jecklin disc, the result is a clean, highly accurate representation of the mechanical and resonant characteristics of the object.
The stone mug provides a naturally dense, ceramic‑like resonance with subtle low‑mid reflections, while the large spoon introduces a mix of metallic scraping, clinking, and fluid agitation sounds. The presence of honey in the tea adds additional viscosity to the movement, producing gentle damped swirls, micro‑bubbles, and thick liquid modulation.
Due to the 192 kHz capture rate, the recording retains extremely fine high‑frequency detail — ideal for sound designers who may wish to time‑stretch, pitch‑shift, or process the material without losing fidelity or introducing artifacts. The sound is well suited for Foley work, cinematic close‑up gestures, UI/UX sound textures, abstract sound design, and any application requiring detailed mechanical‑liquid interaction sounds.
This is a raw, naturalistic recording with no added processing beyond level normalization, ensuring maximum flexibility for creative manipulation.
