Shipping Netherlands Pack 1

Inland vessel passing by. Early spring morning in May at lake Lithse Ham along the river Maas in the Netherlands.

The deep droning engine sound of a barge some 250 meters away, as in this recording, can sound overwhelmingly loud.
This phenomenon of loud low noise, you hear especially in these almost windless situations, when the tones slowly blow with the wind. It then seems as if the entire outdoor space fills with the relatively soft sound.
Furthermore, you hear a lot of birds; Common Cuckoo, Red-neck Grebe, Common Shelduck, Egyptian Goose, Eurasian Coot, Common Chiffchaff, Blackbird, Common Tern. Indeed it is spring.

Birds detected by Merlin Bird ID app (ver. 3.6.1 (220 – 2024);
