winter floodplains river NL 226 PM 240227_0668

Calm winter/spring Floodplains of the Meuse river in the Netherlands. 
The water in the river is high because there has been a lot of rain recently in Belgium and France. The floodplains are full of water.

Across the river, in the village of Heerewaarden, a bulk ship is being unloaded by a large crane. Furthermore, there is not much shipping. Every now and then a plane passes overhead.
It is the first calm and sunny day of this early spring. The birds around me are already making themselves heard.
Right in front of me are bushes and trees where the little birds are singing.
A man returns from fishing, loads his belongings into the car and leaves.
More people come and a Highland cattle also trudges past quietly through the puddles.
Far right you can briefly hear the storks clapping on their nest.
