put an Electromagnetic Field Microphone / Ultrasonic Sounds Microphone / EM Microphone / EF EFM FM US USM SM on top of an USB external HD (toshiba, 2 GB) to my laptop (Dell Precision 7710).
new project in Reaper, 48kHz, 24 bit.
connected the 1/4" TS jack of the mic to the input of an SSL2 audio card, instrument impedance, gain approx 65%.
armed the mono track, pressed REC, connected the USB of the HD to the laptop.
started to backup a 22.8 GB folder with a documentary with audio editing, sound design and music by me.
after about 15 minutes I disconnected the HD from win10 and there was still signal, so I disconnected it physically and then stopped the recording. uploaded the raw file. next time I'm going to 96kHz and probably add a contact mic on a different track.
there are a couple of interesting fx at the beginning and at the end, enjoy it!
